February 1995, Peter Shaddock, Jr. recognized the opportunity to become a more successful builder. Peter took the Shaddock philosophy of quality home building started by his father to a new market and began building homes in the $200,000s. His personal involvement and attention to detail brought renewed growth to Shaddock Builders & Developer, Inc. under this new name.

By June of 1995, Sotherby Homes was making a name for itself with a new model home. Growth continued and in June of 1996, Shaddock Builders and Developers, Inc. turned its emphasis to Sotherby Homes. Shaddock Builders and Developers, Inc. began plans to reorganize the company to meet the changing needs from custom building to volume building.

Currently, Sotherby Homes has over 25 communities in the DFW metroplex with prices ranging from $250,000 to the low $1 millions. We have been recognized with various awards, including the STAR GRAND AWARDS, given by the Texas Association of Builders and the McSam BUILDER OF THE YEAR AWARD, presented by teh Home Builders Association of Greater Dallas. Recently, Sotherby Homes ranked seventh in the JD Power and Associates Customer Satisfaction Survey, as well as second and third in the New Home Quality Survey and New Home Design Survey.
